Search for Subtask based on summary

Mateo Eidson March 3, 2025

How can I find all subtasks within a certain sprint that contain a certain Summary. This seems like a very basic query but the results continue to return nothing.

Sprint=381 and issuetype=Sub-task and Summary ~"Dev - Migrate to Staging*"

Hello @Mateo Eidson

If you remove the and Summary ~"Dev - Migrate to Staging*" portion, do you get any results?

Is the text you provided all the text that should appear in the Summary, or is it just the first part of the summary? It looks like you have an asterisk following Staging but I wanted to understand you intention.

Yes, over 1000 results.

Thank you for checking that. That would point to the problem being in the criteria you are using for the Summary field.

Do you have an answer for the question in my second paragraph?

Hi Trudy.

Yes, you were right. The query was the issue. Once I added an escape character to my query it worked.

Final solution:

summary = "Dev /- Migrate to Prelive*".
