Set past Resolved date to match Status done date

Robb Robins January 26, 2023

Hello,

I would like to set all issues from 2022 to have a Resolved date that is the same as when the issues were moved to the Status done. I believe I would also need to set Resolution status of Done as well.

Why: I am using Looker to pull metrics on last year's JIRA data. For example, I would like to see how many issues were completed in 2022, but unfortunately Looker only recognizes the Resolved date field rather than the Status done date field.

I've looked into ScriptRunner but I haven't found a way to adjust the Resolved date to match the Status done field.

I am looking for suggestions on how to get these two fields to match up. Thank you!

Hello @Robb Robins

According to this post the Resolved date can be changed through a CSV import. I haven't actually tried that.

If you set the Resolution field through the UI that will automatically change the Resolved date to the same date as when the Resolution field is set.

There is also a change request about being able to change it through Bulk Change:

That won't work, in my experimentation. It doesn't update existing issues, but actually adds duplicates to the project.

I'd like to be able to update existing issues. I'm afraid duplication could get messy
