Setting a certain Resolution to prompt for more information

Jira Data Center 9.0.0:

I am trying to setup our Jira workflow such that when we transition an issue to CLOSED, it has a transition screen prompting for the required RESOLUTION.  However, if the RESOLUTION was picked to be FAILED, then we are wanting the user to be required to set a custom field with the KEY for the new issue that will follow up on the failed issue. (I know, we could just transition back the original issue to be re-worked but they don't want that.  They want a new issue.)

Has anyone ever implemented such a transition to DONE or CLOSED where setting the RESOLUTION to a certain value that would further require the setting of another field to complete the transition.

We already have JSU Automation Suite for Jira Workflows. add-on.

Thanks.

Hi @Boyd K

Is it possible for you to create 2 transition, one for failed, one for passed then add a validator in the failed transition to set the field required using JSU ?

I was trying to make it happen with the one and same transition.  But, if necessary, I could setup another transition and propose that to my team.

I don 't see how to do it with JSU only.

I know how to do it with Scriptrunner and porbably with JIRA Workflow Toolbox, but if you do not have this app I would go with multiple transitions.

Decided to implement a separate status transition.  Thanks.
