Setting up test environment without premium licence

Hi all,

this is a topic that is often asked about. I am aware of what alternatives I have, but I don't know how to actually do it.

So far, I have been able to test significant changes to workflows in the production system with a lot of copying and deletion work afterwards, but this is very tedious.

I have a free instance that I could use as a test environment.

Is it possible to migrate one workflow only incl. all relevant schemes etc. to this free instance or can only the complete productive environment be migrated? And what are the exact steps? I look forward to your feedback.

Hi Anette,

You could use an add-on app like the Revyz Configuration Manager for Jira.

Hi @John Funk ,

according your idea to have a look on the Revyz App I have a demo today. Could you please let me know if you use it and what your experiences are? Thank you.

Sorry for the delay. Yes, I use it a lot. And in fact, I am also an Advisor to the app.  :-)

How did it go?

Hi @John Funk ,

I decided against this app, because this is not the test environment I would like to work with, although I see the advantages of the app. As in fact significant amendments do not occur in such a high frequency I will go on the tedious way :-)

Thank you for your advise. Maybe I will come back to this app in the future.

Hi @Anette Noll

If you are willing to try a third-party app, you could also try our app Deep Clone for Jira.

Deep Clone can clone whole projects including the workflows from one instance to another with its Instance Clone feature.
