Hi,
We designed new workflow for JIRA Projects, new workflow will be used for more than one project. What is the best way to easily update this workflow at the future.. creating separate copy from this workflow for each project or directly share this workflow between different projects?
Hi,
This depends some on the projects in question.
If all the projects are to be ran the same on the issue type(s) the Workflow are to be connected to, and no unique-ness is needed per project for the workflow, I personally would share the workflow. Then you only need to update that one workflow when adjustments is needed.
If a project need some unique features on the workflow later on, one can simply copy the workflow, make modifications in the copied workflow and connect that project to that workflow instead.
But if the projects need unique features in the workflow, you need separate workflows.
Thanks Knut! yup same issue types and statuses will be shared between those pojects

No problem. I would go for reusing the workflow until other needs are present, then clone the workflow, customize it and assign it to the project that requires it.
Have a great day.
Best Regards
