Single Sign On with Seraph

Hi all,

I'm looking for a way to implement SSO with JIRA Core. On my research I came accross with Seraph and since the last update on this page is from 2013, I would like to know if anyone has successfully implemented it and if it is supported by Atlassian. Is there an updated implementation guide I can follow?

I also came accros with Crowd, but I'm under the impression that is is useful only when we have multiple Atlassian products. 

Can anyone give some advice on how to implement this?

There is a article titled Single Sign-on to JIRA with SiteMinder that may be of use.  Please note that the article is Windows based but the principles should be able to help.
