I have incidently created the name of one site as mitaja and want to change it to Itpathfinder and create 2 projects under Itpathfinder (as itpathfinder represents different office location).
So, can you suggest how can i do that also I am not able to add any email id related to itpathfinder domain like shreyansh@itpathfinder.com only mitaja.com domain is entertained by Jira like shreyansh@mitaja.com is created
I am using jira free version
Thanks
Hello @Prakash Motiani,
Thank you for reaching out to the Atlassian Community!
Checking the details of your account, I can see that there are three Cloud sites and one of them is already called Itpathfinder, so it won’t be possible to rename the mitaja to Itpathfinder since it already exists.
What you can do is migrate a full backup or the projects from one site to another.
Regarding the accounts, is it showing any error when you try to invite users from a different domain?
Kind regards,
Angélica

Hi Angelica,
Hope you are doing well !!!
Many thanks for your reply but with the name ITPathFinder I have created the cloud site by login into "https://admin.atlassian.com/" before that I was not sure about it but finally I got the solution
Second question is how can i restrict user permission as there are there groups admin, site admin and software users.
Consider a scenario that i don't want my team members to create task individually by themself
How can i do that ?
Waiting for your reply !

Hi @Prakash Motiani,
If you don’t want Software users to create tasks, it’s necessary to remove the permission directly on the projects.
The steps below apply only to sites under Standard and Premium plans. On Free sites, it’s not possible to change permissions.
Company-managed projects:
Go to Project settings > Permissions > Actions > Edit permissions.
By default, the Create Issues permissions are set to “Any logged in user”, first click on Remove > Select Application access - Any logged in user > Remove.
After that, click on Edit and grant permissions for the groups you need.
Team-managed projects:
For this type of project, it would be necessary to create a new Role, because there are no permissions to edit.
Go to Project settings > Access > Manage roles > Create role.
Add a name to the new role and select the permissions you want users to have. Since you don’t want them to create tasks, make sure to do not to select the Create issues checkbox.
Then, just add the users to this role so they won’t be able to create tasks.

Hello Angelica,
As the resolution you have given is not for free tier account so its okay.
I have incidently created both mitaja and mitajacorp and now i want to deactivate or change name to test for mitajacorp cloud site.
Is there any way to do it ?
Again considering that my account is free tier.
Thanks
Prakash

Hi @Prakash Motiani,
In order to change the name of the site, at least one of the products must be under the Standard or Premium plan.
If you want to keep the site, you can upgrade Jira to Standard, make the necessary changes, and then, downgrade back to Free.
In case you don’t want to use the mitajacorp site anymore, you can cancel the subscription and the site will be deleted after a while.
