Sprint field not visible in new issue view

Deleted user December 7, 2018

Field scheme clearly shows it should be showing, in spite of the fact that it shows when oldissueview=true.

For some reason JIRA is also now forcing the new view unless I manually revert (in spite of me using a Chrome add-on to force old issue view).

Is there a reason the new issue view is ignoring my field schemes?

Same for me. Have you found any solution for that?

Same. Sprint is visible if the work item is open in the sidebar or preview(not full screen), but not when in full screen.

yes, you are right - sprint field invisible in a full screen, however, preview or sidebar work fine. I checked sprint field settings and everything should work. It seems that it's somehow connected with a new UI.

Same issue here unfortunately, in preview we can still check it but in full screen it's gone.

Hi, I am having the same issue as well. Started today.

I notice a possible cause. I have a Scrum board which covers multiple projects. When I open the issue from the Scrum board (in my overarching scrum project), I can NOT see the Sprint field anymore.

But when I go to its own project and then open the issue, I can actually see the Sprint field again. This could be the cause of the bug perhaps?

I spent 1 hour of my life trying to understand what was happening, if someone from my team changed something...

I was feeling so stupid... and finally found the problem.

Can I have 1 hour of my life back please?

Hey!

I don't see the a field in both full screen and sidebar layouts.

As the Atlassian confirmed the problem I could suggest a temporary solution:

1. Chose the task (make it active) - open it in full screen of choose from backlog/issues screen

2. Press "." (dot) on the keyboard, it'll open the action menu

3. Type "add sprint" or find it in the action menu

4. Edit sprint

Hello Toby,

Thank you for raising this question.

In my Cloud site, the field Sprint is properly displaying in the new issue view as you can see in the screenshot below:

Screen Shot 2018-12-10 at 17.06.35.png

That being said, I would recommend you to perform the following steps so we can better troubleshoot the problem:

- Please, check if you have a custom field called Sprint or Sprints. Sometimes, a custom field with the same name can cause some confusion in the screen schemes

- You said the field is properly appearing in the old view. Can you please check if there are any values added to that field or if it's empty? If it's empty, try to select any sprints and check if the field appears in the new issue view.

- Can you please provide us the version of your Cloud site?

Hi @Petter Gonçalves

I am having the same problem. We are on Jira Cloud. Sprint does not appear in the New Issue View if it is blank. If I switch to the old view I am able to see the field and assign the issue to the sprint. After that the field is visible. I do NOT have a custom field called 'Sprint' or 'Sprints.

Hello @Sheri

Can you confirm if the project you are using is classic or Next-gen? I see that you mentioned that in the old view it is not happening, so I just wanted to ensure you have tested it in the same project and not in a different one.

Also, check if the field is properly added under project settings > Issue Layout as not hidden.

Let us know if the steps above helps.

HI @Petter Gonçalves

I can confirm that the project is classic and that the filed is not hidden. If the field is blank it does not show up in the New Issue view. Once a value has been populated it does show up.

Thanks,

Sheri
