My question is regarding the Start date and End date, do we need to add them to the issues, or we can have reports without it?

Hi @Ashraf

Welcome to the community.

What do you mean by "add them to issues"? You don't need to add the custom fields to the issue view screen. However, the value must exist in Jira issue in order to get a report.

Also what kind of a report do you want to get?

Hi @Ashraf ,

It depends on the type of report you need, and it depends on your hosting (Cloud or Data Center) too.

In general to create a report in Jira is necessary to have fields to complete the report.

Before adding check if these fields exists (Due date sure in both hosting, Start Date only on Cloud)

I hope it helps!

Hi Leo,

Thank you for your answer, the reports as burndown and burnup.

@Ashraf I don't know if you still need more info on this, but the burndown and burnup reports if you are using sprints only require the sprint to be assigned -- they don't use start / due dates.
