Status Change but not in Alphabetical order

I have attached a screenshot below of the issue.

I know there is a way to add and delete status's, but is there a way to configure them somehow that is NOT in alphabetical order in the screenshot below?

I want to be able to make those highlighted in yellow to the right, match the same as the the WORKFLOW order (see second screenshot below)

Hi @Nicole Ogloza

You can do this using using opsbar-sequence which is a transition property on each of your "All" transitions within the workflows - to edit these:

  1. Go to Jira Settings > Issues > Workflows
  2. Locate and open your Workflow
  3. Select any transition (any "All") and select Properties
  4. In the Property Key, enter opsbar-sequence
  5. In Property Value, enter a number - eg. 0, 10 or 20 (I use tens)
  6. Repeat this for each transition - the numbers decide the order of the statuses lowest > highest, so if I use 0, 10, 20 - 0 will be the first status, 10 the second and 20 last.

For more information, see this page under "Customize how transitions appear"

Note: This only works in Classic Projects and in the "old view". If you're using the "new issue view" (turned on via your user settings), then this is not currently functioning - see JRACLOUD-70702

The workaround suggested is the one you've currently implemented, using numbers to decide the status order. To be clear though, the selected status will always show top of the list as it's the "in-use" status.

Bar that the order seems to match between the two?

Hi @Nicole Ogloza

I wanted to chime in here and let you know that the opsbar-sequence property is now honored in the new issue view. Previously it was only available in the old issue view. You can find more information on the public ticket.

Kind regards,

Matt
