We have several teams working using Team Managed Projects. These projects all were set to the use the Software Simplified Workflow Scheme. The idea with all of this being that the teams will self-manage their projects and workflows as they need to.
I have been trying to pull some stats together across these projects but the statuses are duplicated - eg a pie chart will show multiple "To Do" statuses.
When I have searched for solutions to this everything has pointed to issues with the workflows but when I look at the workflows they are all set to inactive.
Are the workflows all inactive because each project is using the Software Simplified Workflow Scheme?
If that is the case, how can I get around the duplication of statuses?
Thanks!
Hi @John Cross,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
Currently team-managed projects should be seen as its own island with no connection to anywhere, which means that you would have status duplications, field duplications, etc. Atlassian is working on global custom field support, currently scheduled for Q3-Q4 2022 according to the public roadmap and I think I saw somewhere that this is also considered for workflows in the future.
So the short answer would be that currently there is no way around duplicate statuses if you are using team-managed projects.
Thanks @Mikael Sandberg for the quick reply! Good to know that its a gap and that there's something coming to fill it. Saves me spending any more time trying to find a solution :)

Hi @John Cross -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Yes, and...to Mikael's answer:
Here is the link to the specific improvement item for sharing custom fields between team-managed projects; Atlassian says it is currently scheduled for availability in January 2023. You may watch/vote for it to see progress:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-20905
Kind regards,
Bill
