Hello!
I am getting ready to start our upgrade project to the latest Atlassian products. Our main OS will be RHEL, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, version 7.4.
I glanced over the requirements and didn't see what I was looking for. Are there any "recommendations" for the minimum size for the following Linux directories:
/
/home
/usr
/var
/usr/local
/var/log
/var/log/audit
/opt
Best,
James
By default, the Atlassian stack will live entirely in /opt, so the short answer is "use the OS recommended minimum sizes for all the others, and look at your long-term data requirements for the applications to determine /opt".

Hello again!
What are the recommended locations for the installation directory and the home directory?
Would it be /opt for both? That would tie in to what you have said regarding where the stack lives
Best,
James

Yes, the installers will default to putting both in /opt. Generally, that's where I'd put them as well, although a lot of the time, I'll do something like /opt/atlassian-install/jira and /opt/atlassian-data/jira if I'm putting more than one Atlassian application on the server.
The important thing is to make sure you don't nest them - do not put the data directory inside the installation or vice-versa
