Hi,

I'm new to Jira admin, forgive me if my question is too basic.

I was asked to set up jira and confluence access for our contractor(s), which they want the following condition:-

  • No access to any confluence page by default and they have to request for it. (I think this is easily achieved, just don't give them any access)
  • No access to any jira/projects, and can only view issue(s) that are assigned to them. (it didn't work :[)

So far, we just created a group and not assigned any projects.

Thanks,
Atlas

I'm not familiar with confluence. But if they are to have issues assigned to them they need access to the project the issues are in. You can use issue level security schemes to limit them it just issues assigned to them. Look at https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/configuring-issue-level-security-861253265.html

1. In the space permissions, add each individual contractors to the space under Individual Users . see image attached.

2. create a group, jira-contractors. Give the group access to jira. In the project's permission scheme, give the group Browse Permission only.
