Structure: Is there a way to keep epic link when nesting issues under stories inside epics?

My goal is to create a hierarchical structure inside of epics. I'd like to represent a second level of hierarchy where tasks and stories support a given story with "relates to" links. Ideally, the issues on level 3 have both a "Relates to" link and the Epic link.

I think i've almost got this working but my current issue is that if i move an issue on level 2 of the hierarchy underneath a story it removes the epic link and i have to manually re-add it.

Is it possible to keep both the "relates to" link and the "epic link"? Would love any suggestions for how to accomplish this. Note that I don't have an advanced roadmap plugin and want to do this with native JIRA and structure capability.

Thank you!

Hi @Gillian Langor ,

Welcome to the Community!

I believe that you can hold ctrl (pc) or option (mac) while you are dragging and dropping the issue.  This should create the new "relates to" link and retain the Epic link that already exists.

Please let me know if it helps!

Best,

David
