Structure Limiting My Issues

Chris Yukubousky February 11, 2022

Hello-

I have a structure set up that should show me 6,000+ tickets, however, it is only returning 1,015. After creation, I can go to 'Automation' and insert a JQL query based on project and more show up. This only seems to work because i can blank out the 'view of 1000' and have unlimited. Where can I set this up globally in Jira? I cannot find any documentation.

Hello @Chris Yukubousky ,

David from ALM Works here.

To expand upon what @Dima Kuzmin _ALM Works_ has said, it appears that you are asking about Structure - Project Management at Scale's 1k default issue limit for Insert Generators.

While at the moment it is not possible to change this default limit globally, it is possible to adjust it on a structure by structure basis (as it sounds like you have been doing).

The good news is we love to hear feedback like this and will run it by our Product team!  If anything changes, we will circle back to let you know!

In the meantime, as Dmitrii mentioned, feel free to contact our support team via email support@almworks.com or through our customer portal support.almworks.com.  I bet we can help you find a different combo of generators to help you achieve your goal.

Best,
David

Hello @Chris Yukubousky ,

This is Dmitrii with ALM Works.

Thank you for pitching in @Alex

It is not possible to change the limit globally.

If you have any questions, or if you'd like us to take a closer look at your setup, we encourage you to contact us at support@almworks.com. Perhaps there is a way to limit the number of issues by adjusting the way your structure is built - there could be duplicates and other issues that you don't need.

Kind regards,

Dmitrii Kuzmin

Hi @Chris Yukubousky

You might need to change the global parameters on your instance

  • jira.search.views.default.max
  • jira.search.views.max.limit
  • jira.search.stable.max.results parameters

You can find this option on https://JIRA_BASE_URL/secure/admin/AdvancedApplicationProperties.jspa

Be mindful that this change might cause performance degradation due to the number of issues returned on each search.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Alex

Hi Alex-

I have already increased all of. these to 10,000 and still only see 1,015 results.
