I've created a subtask that is available under a certain issue type. Right now the subtask uses the same screen as the issue it's a subtask of. I'm struggling with (being a new and part time player in the Jira world of setup and maintenance) changing the subtask screen to something different so when the subtask is created the screen has different fields in it. I created a screen but I'm not sure how to link it to the subtask (and I really don't want to blow up the main issue config trying to mess with it.
Hello,
Create a Screen Scheme and select the screen you've created as default. If you need to use different screens to create/edit/view you'll have to edit the screen scheme and assoc appropriate screens with issue operations.
Then configure the issue type screen scheme which is assigned to your project. Add the new screen scheme into the issue type screen scheme for subtask issue type.
Voila
Great solution - I'm fairly experienced and read this with more 'advanced' eyes and it worked.
My only challenge was simplifying what you'd instructed above - Dennish is (was) inexperienced, so I wonder if you could add any more detail as to 'how'.
A follow up question if I may Kerem - this has worked, but it's still linked to another workflow that has conditional elements, so the sub tasks won't create as the conditions aren't met.
Could you elaborate and add how to associate a new workflow with the sub task. I'm doing it now, so once I've done it I'll update, but looking for a quick and cheeky win :)
