on Jira server - trying to pull data from Assignee field for one project and it's not available for selection. Have checked permissions, the field is available on the jira tickets themselves, and I can sync it for other projects. As per endpoint API calls, it looks like it should be available, but it isn't.
What can I look for?
Could you provide more info on how you are pulling data?
If you are using a saved filter, check which column have been set up for it.
Hi @Tom Lister !
So, a user is trying to send data from Jira to a 3rd party tool via API (afaik).
There is a step where you select the Jira Fields you also want to bring in to sync - these include things like Issue Type, Summary, Components, and it appears that on only one project, the assignee field is not available to be synced.
But, the assignee field is mandatory on a users project, and as I said it is available on other projects. Some issues have Assignee's assigned to them, but it's just not even available to sync. We have troubleshooted using API calls to their server, and our dev/eng team are convinced that it should be there.
As far as we can tell, there is nothing in the way of syncing that field.

SOrry @Tom Lister - when you say "If you are using a saved filter, check which column have been set up for it." - where could I look for that? I'm troubleshooting for a customer on jira server, and I'm on Jira cloud (and what I'm most familiar with).

It doesn't look like your tool is using a filter.
If this is different in different projects, is it related to 'Assign User' permission ?

The user can assign users to the field from within Jira fine - and the integration is really just a reflection of those project permissions, but with his same credentials he can access that field on other projects - so it must be a project-specific setting that we can't seem to figure out what it is.

Try the Permission Helper to check the user perms?
Are you entering something in the Filter issues tab?

Permission helper looks a bit useful - only issue is the Assignee is in Jira, on the project, just fine, with Write permissions... is there another permission aspect I might be missing?
On the Filter screen you select the Project, Issue Types and Status' you want to sync - only the Project will affect what fields are available for sync (which is how we know it's project specific that the Assignee field is not populating).

Hi
check the edit/view screens between project for differences. The screen definitions are used by Jira components to determine field availability
