Hello
I'm trying to do a POC with the TFS4JIRA Azure DevOps integration app and noticed in testing that any edits to Azure do not get updated in Jira, after synchronization. Manually initiated or automatic
This is a rather big problem, if we want to use this tool.
Any ideas, has anyone seen this before?
Would appreciate any help, a lot of people are hoping this will work.
This is Majid @ Exalate.
I am not sure if you were able to resolve the issue, but I think the explanation regarding the dedicated user would be the root cause here. If you want to evaluate different options for the integration, I would urge you to look at Exalate as well. Exalate is a decentralized integration solution that sync Azure DevOps with any version/ deployment of Jira. You can choose to go with the visual connection method or the scripted one.
Hope it helps.
Thanks
Majid

I checked with our support team and they did receive Claudio's ticket. Can you please confirm the following:
NOTE:
In Cloud instance, the synchronizer needs to be a dedicated user who is not performing actual edits or creation on the ADO side.
In order to prevent data loops we will filter anything out that is placed in ADO by the sync user.
For eg: If you are the sync user, and you place a comment under the ADO work item, TFS4JIRA will ignore it and nothing will get synchronized.
If you prefer, you can send me an email at Jennifer (dot) Dempsey (at) Appfire (dot) com and I can add you to the support ticket so you can communicate more easily with the team. Thank you!

Hello @jennifer.dempsey_Appfire I sent you an email. Not sure if you got it. Need your help please. We need to get a new trial license but it seems to be taking some time. Claudio is doing his best to respond to the questions asked. The sooner we can get this the sooner we can try and adhere to your suggestions on how to make the Editing Updates work. Help!
