We are using multiple tabs for my issue screens and every tab has several fields.

1) Is there a possibility to achieve tab level edit permissions? . i.e. Tab1 is readonly for user1 and editable for user2 and Tab2 is invisible for user3 etc,. We are okay with either of plugin or default options.

2) Also how to achieve field level permissions. field2 should be editable for group1 and group2 should only have read-only permissions.

Hi @Balasanthanam Pillai

It's not possible to have tab-level edit permissions - these are just for splitting up fields on the layout.

For field-level permissions, you'll need an app - check out apps like Secure Fields or Field Security Plugin.

Hi Ste @Ste Wright ,

I would like to ask if since your last response to the above question, is there any way to use tab-level permissions?

Thank you.

Hi @Orsolya Bod

Not yet I'm afraid.

Now that Server is EOL, if you're using Data Center it looks like Secure Fields is still an option.

In Cloud there's a few options also - see Secure Custom Fields or Protected Fields.
