I have created one automation rule to create multi task in main EPIC when it was moved from Backlog to In analysis.
1. Trigger - When issue transitioned From backlog to In analysis.
2. Project equals - abc
3. Issue type equals - EPIC.
4. branch for current issue.
5. Create a new - task under same project.
This rule is working fine. But now there is further ask to transition that new created task to In progress, as it was automatically created with status backlog.
For that I have added action transition the issue - destination status -to in analysis.
Automation rule first is not giving any error and status is backlog. When we tried the status from trigger issue the it give error use smart view.
Any quick suggestions to update the status of new created task under same EPIc.
Hi @Mohit Jain
Can you provide your automation details.
This wil help members of the community to understand your rule and see the possible flaw and can suggest a solution

Hi @Mohit Jain
You need to create the issue outside the branch and then branch on most recent created issues and transition it.
You can't create an issue in a branch an transition it, as you branch is set to the current issues and that is the issue that triggered the rule

As of it is working fine, the only issue with setting status to analysis.
With this automation I am creating almost 10 task which was allocated different users.
So bit confused.

Hi @Mohit Jain
Your rule triggers on a status change of an issue, correct? Then your branch says For Current Issue (that is the issue that triggers this rule).
Then in the branch you create an issue, that all fine, but the transition is based on the issue from the start of the branch, hence this is the issue that triggered the rule as you branch is fro current issue.
It can never ever transition the created issue.
