Hi!
The hierarchy of my structure board is currently as follows (also shown in the image below)
Initiative
Quarterly Deliverable
Epic
Story 1
Story a
Story b
...
Story 2
Story a
Story b
As you can see, there are duplicates of stories. I want the structure to be as follows:
Initiative
Quarterly Deliverable
Epic
Story 1
Story a
Story b
...
Story 2
I have tried using the Remove Inserter/Extender filter, but it did not make a difference. Here is what my automation looks like:
I'm assuming the duplication has something to do with the way the epics and the stories are linked together (i.e. Issue Linkages). I am currently using "breaks into" for the sub-stories.
Thank you so much!
Hello Marie-Lynn,
Thank you for sharing your Structure question here on the Atlassian Community.
The duplicates are likely created because the same issues have different links in them, and there is no way to visualize the existing links-based hierarchy without duplicating these issues (if one issue is linked to two different parent issues, it will end up appearing in two different places). Also, each Extend generator and the Group by Issue Links generator adds issues that have a certain link in them, so if an issue has several links, it might be added by several generators - one time for each existing link.
With that said, we recommend inspecting your current links in Jira and remove extra ones (for example, if an issue is linked to an epic and it's also linked to a story underneath this epic, then you might not need the epic link), and if you need further assistance - reach out to us directly at support.almworks.com and we'll take a detailed look at your set-up.
Please let me know if it helps.

Hi there,
I have the same issue and the issue which is present twice does not have any links in it. Once it is displayed in the hierarchy and once it is displayed stand alone.
The Remove Inserter/ Remover functionality didn't lead to a solution.
--> EDIT
Recreating the structure solved the problem.
Thanks
