There is a link between Sprint of the different Jira projects?

Emma June 18, 2024

hello! I have a problem and I hope I will find an answer here. I work in 2 boards in jira (for different projects) and I create, in each board, Sprints with almost the same name (the difference is the name of the project: ABC05_Sprint_5_CW:25-26 and ABC06_Sprint_5_CW:25-26). Can you tell me, please, why this names are not remained different? In this moment, on the both project, I have the same name of one sprint: ABC05_Sprint_5_CW:25-26.

It is so strange for me (I tried to pus something different in the names but it is not worked). Thank you!

Hi @emanuela hugianu Welcome to the Atlassian community.

The Sprints are not bind to projects rather they belong to the board they created as you have two projects and using two different boards for the Sprints then Sprint name can be same on both the boards.

If you update the filter query to use the issues from the both projects then it will not shown under the project sidebar.

Thank you for your answer! I use for on of the project like a filter: project = ABC05 ORDER BY Rank ASC and for the other one, project = ABC06 ORDER BY Rank ASC. Is it something wrong?

Your board filters are good as they are having issues from the single projects only.

I'm sorry but I don't understand what I can do to solve the problem.

You can edit the Sprint name if you want,

I did it already... I moved the topics (for both projects) in another sprints, I renamed the first created sprints and than I moved the tasks back but nothing else happened.
