Timeline items marked as done are still shown despite filter

I want to hide work items in my Timeline that are marked as 'done'. I am using the filter on the view to try and do this, but the 'done' items are still shown despite the filter. What's going on?

The checkbox at the base of the filters called 'show full hierarchy' overrides any of the above selections. 

Uncheck that one and you'll see the done items disappear.

Has the 'Show full hierarchy' checkbox been moved?  It is no longer showing in the Filters menu.
