Hi Jira Community,
I'm an admin-level-user of our jira-board, but I found I don't have the permission to "configure the board" (I was trying to adding new col to our board).
And I noticed the owner of the board belongs to a former teammate,
unfortunately,
this person doesn't have the JIRA-access anymore (probably jumped to another company) ...
so I'm wondering how we can transfer the ownership from my ex-teammate to me ?
or how can I "configure the board" without a owner-level-permission ?
Thanks !
Thx @John Funk for your quick reply !
So we I go to "users and roles" of our board,
I can see "Project Lead", and my manager's name is under here,
then "administrators", my name is under this tab.
now I found both my manager and I, we're not able to "add column" under "configure board".
Do you think my manger, the project lead, could grant himself more permissions to do this ?
Thx again.

"Board Settings" ? I don't how to jump to this section.
I go to "board" -> "configure board" as shown above.
then I found this,
and if I go to "Columns", the "Add Col" button is grey ...
any hints ?
thanks !

Ah it looks like you are on Sever version (or Data Center) and not Cloud version. I do not use that version, but is there a General section? Or somewhere to add a Board Administrator?
