I have a field by Jira Misc Custom Fields which shows the name of the user that does a certain transition.
This add-on (JMCF) is unsupported and I want to change it by another type of field.
First, my idea was to have an User Picker field that is populated in a post function but the problem is that the field can be edited via Bulk Change and that is not the idea. This field is used to indicate an "approver" in the workflow.
Any idea / suggestion?
Actually, JMCF is supported by Innovalog, and JMCF 2.0, which is coming out this week, is bringing many improvements, including the ability to display calculated fields on transition screens.
SHi @Fabiana Roxo
there are JavaScript solutions to making fields read only but I’ve always been wary of those solutions due to extra work in upgrades.
Scriptrunner has field behaviours which would do this for you.
also worth a try is just removing the field from the edit screen. It will still visible in view screen

Hi @Tom Lister,
The problem with behaviours is that even if a field is read-only, I believe it can be edited via bulk change. Same happens with removing the field from Edit screen.
I was trying to create a Script Field (ScriptRunner too). My idea is to check the issue history when the status is changed from X to Y and get the author of this change but I haven't managed...
