Transition events not sending notification

I am working through the notification system in my cloud instance of Jira and have notifications on Generic Event to go to Assignee, Reporter, and Watchers.  I have confirmed that I have the notification scheme and notifications configured correctly for other events such as "Issue Assigned (System)".

When I transition the issue, the standard Generic Event is included in the Post Functions but the notification is not sent out.  I have also changed the event to "Issue Assigned (System) as I confirmed the actual event worked and sent the email. 

Any guidance here would be appreciated as these notifications will be essential to the project type I am working.

Hello @Matt Houck 

You executed the status transition. Are you also the Reporter, Assignee, or Watcher of the issue?

Have you reviewed your personal settings to confirm you don't have any settings that would prevent them from receiving the notification? For example, if you make the status change and you are the Reporter (or Assignee or Watcher) of the issue, but you unchecked the option to receive notifications for changes you make, then you wouldn't receive that notification.

This might be exactly what is going on, and if so, awesome an easy fix.  I'll mess around with it this week and see if I can get it to work.  If so, I'll accept the answers.  Thanks to both of you @Trudy Claspill @Najm Polaris
