We are evaluating the complexity of working two different projects with almost identical members. We would like to know is it better to a separate Trial licenses for each project, or bundle the two projects under one Trial license? Will Jira allow same emails in more than one Trial license?

Hi Barry,

For the sake of making Jira administration easier, I'd recommend having one instance since the users are (mostly) the same. I'm not sure if you mean "projects" in the Jira sense or "projects" in the "we are building a new product that might have multiple and separate streams of work happening". Jira does have mechanisms to allow different settings between Jira projects to handle things like this.

If you're looking at evaluating Jira Cloud, you can have user@domain.com as a member of two different Cloud trials. Same goes for Jira Server. But again with the info you've mentioned, I'd recommend using the same trial instance. This will also make it easier for your users since they won't have to remember two different site addresses.

Hope this helps and if you need assistance setting up trial licenses, please feel free to reach out directly to the Billing & Licensing team at support.atlassian.com/contact !

Cheers,
Daniel
