I am setting up an instance of JIRA and CONFLUENCE, I have bitbucket running and authenticating to AD already, but when I use the same settings for JIRA, I get a COnnection timed out error message as below:
Connection test failed. Response from the server:
sawtooth.mysdi.local:636; nested exception is javax.naming.CommunicationException: sawtooth.mysdi.local:636 [Root exception is java.net.SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out]
Running on Debian 9, Bitbucket working fine.
Any assistance gratefully received.
Cheers
Hello
the problems can be several and to solve it we need some more data.
Are the products hosted on the same server ?.
Have you checked the AD service logs ?
Regards,
Juan Francisco.
Juan, thank you for your reply. Yes all systems are hosted on the same server, currently running JIRA, Confluence and BitBucket all on a Debian9 server, I am new to Linux and Bitbucket so floundering somewhat.

If the products are hosted in the same service, I suggest that you contact the administrators of AD and verify the logs.
Maybe there, you are going to see something.
Another solution is to connect bitbucket to JIRA and use it to authenticate users.
Bitbucket -> JIRA -> AD
