UI/UX of my one of project is changed while other projects isn't

meskicks January 23, 2025

Hi everyone,

I noticed that the UI/UX of one of my Jira accounts has changed automatically, even though I didn't make any changes. My other project still has the old UI/UX. I would like to know if there is a way to update the old project to the new UI/UX or to revert the new one to the old version. so both of them have the same interface.

Hi @meskicks

are those two projects in the same Jira instance?

It looks like the first picture is using the newly implemented Jira-SideBar-UI. This project is probably enrolled in the Beta-Programm.

More infos to that here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-articles/Try-out-the-new-navigation-in-Jira/ba-p/2686564 and the community group here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/New-navigation/gh-p/NavigationRefresh

Kind regards

Hi, no projects are in different instances, each in a separate Jira account.

I don't know why one changed while the other didn't because I did not change anything in both projects. I think it was done automatically.

I think I can sign up and change the old one to the new UI/UX, I want both projects to have the same user interface so I think I can't revert the new UI/UX to the old one then I must go ahead and update the old one.

Hi,

ah yes. One instance (the new UI-one) is then probably enrolled in the Beta.

For now you should be able to access the settings under "Jira Labs" (Personal Settings - General - Jira Labs). There you can opt-out of the "new" navigation. Please note that this will only set your personal preferences.

To opt-out of the whole program: I think you will have to  discuss this with Atlassian Support.

For the future: Check if one of your sites is enabled in the Beta-Program. If you want both sites to look the same always you probably need to either opt-in with both sites or (probably better for a Prod-site) opt-out in both.

Check EAP here: https://support.atlassian.com/platform-experiences/docs/participating-in-the-platform-experiences-early-access-program/

PS: Note that New Features which are being "Rolled Out"by Atlassian might take a while to set in both of your instances. Features are not enabled on all site at the same time, but gradually. So in having 2 sites, there might be a time difference in new features/ UI regardless.

Kind regards

I filled out the form for our project to be navigated to the beta version.
Yeah I think It takes time for the new update in all projects thank you for your assistance

You are welcome.

If your question has been answered: Don't forget to mark it as such, so other Users who might have a similar problem can find it more easily.

Thanks

Hi @Simon König

I do not have the option to revert to old UI. The new UI is really very bad.

Hi @Samet Yildiz

I just looked at my Beta System again and I still have it there :/.

Do you have Sysadmin rights on your system? Might be the difference. If yes then you should refer to the support for this one.

KR,

Simon
