I am unable to add a comment to any Jira issue. I was wondering if there is a setting that would enable/disable this? I can create issues, edit descriptions, and even edit existing comments but cannot add any comments of my own.
My account is managed by an admin so if there are any settings on their end that need to be updated, please advise.
Thanks!
Hi Mark and welcome to the community!
It sounds like you don't have the "Add Comments" permission on those particular projects. This can be found in the permission scheme for the project/s (permission schemes can be used for multiple projects). If you are a Jira admin you can look at how the "Add Comments" permission is setup in the permission scheme. If it is based on a group, you may not be apart of that group and would need to be added (this can be an internal or AD managed group). If its based on a project role, you may not be a member of that project role. A project admin can add you to the user role for that project to grant that permission.
Hopefully this helps!
Thanks for the guidance! That helped us fix the permission issue.
