We purchased a Jira Software starter license after a trial period with Jira Software and Jira Service Desk.
After activating the new Jira Software license, the Service Desk trial period expired. We are now unable to create any sort of issues with a valid Jira Software license.
Is it required to uninstall Jira Service Desk?

Yes, it's required to uninstall the Jira service desk. There is a open ticket about this problem as well, here
