Unable to import Links

Hi,

I am actually doing a migration from JIRA Cloud to JIRA Cloud for a software project.

I am using CSV files to import and have a file with just the Issue Key, Summary and Links (Blocks, Duplicates,Blocks, etc.). I have already imported all my issues beforehand.

But this particular import is falling with the error message: 

Unexpected failure occurred. Importer will stop immediately. Data may be in an unstable state: java.lang.Exception: Failed to add users to 'Developers' role for the project 'SCRUM': Errors: {}

Error Messages: [You can't update role actors for this project as it's on the Jira Software Free plan.]: Failed to add users to 'Developers' role for the project 'SCRUM': Errors: {}

Error Messages: [You can't update role actors for this project as it's on the Jira Software Free plan.]

Any ideas please?

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

On Jira Cloud Free plan, as mentioned on the error, it's not possible to add people to projects. Everyone will be a project administrator, so the role Developers can't be added to users. 

As per the details you provided, there are only three fields being imported, is that correct?

Is there any other information on the CSV about the reporter or assignee of the tickets?

A workaround, in this case, would be to upgrade your plan to Standard to import this CSV and then downgrade to Free again. To upgrade your plan, go to Cog icon > Billing > Manage subscriptions and click on Change and select Standard.

After that, import the file again and before changing to Free again, make sure to remove the users from the Developers' role in the project, because once you go back to Free, it will not be possible to remove them from that role again.

Thanks you so much for this concise and detailed response.

As per the details you provided, there are only three fields being imported, is that correct? - Currently there are the Issue Key, Summary, Outward issue link (Blocks), Outward issue link (Duplicate), Outward issue link (Problem/Incident) and Outward issue link (Relates) only. Just the fields related with links

Is there any other information on the CSV about the reporter or assignee of the tickets? - No other fields related to reporter or assignee. All the tickets has been previously imported successfully but without the links.

I will try the steps you provided and let you know of the outcome.
