Hi Community,
We've a JIRA project for maintiaining the epics. The epic name is like this QTC-OE-B0001 (or) QTC/OE/B0001 and summary also we're adding epic name. However I've noticed that when I try to search the issue with this, it can find the issue.
If I try until QTC- then can display search list but if I enter QTC-OE then couldn't able to findout the issue at all. May I know does there restrictin in search functionality?
Regards,
Praveen
I found the error why the search is not working.
It's because of the hyphen in the text field
There's an open feature request to fix this issue
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-69172
Please mark the answer as accepted
Thanks,
Pramodh
Can you perform the full re-indexing of the instance and try the search again?
It seems like you are searching in the quick-search bar.
Also can you search the Epic via Issue navigator and see if it returns the issue
issuekey = "Epic-Key"
Let me know
Thanks

Hi @Pramodh M ,
But as per Search syntax for text fields | Jira Software Data Center and Server 8.5 | Atlassian Documentation it didn't work right?
Regards,
Praveen

But epic name is mandatory / key used through out the prjoect already. Though I put the epic name QTC-BE-A0001 in the epic summary also can't search with these.
