Unable to start first sprint

Brian Gorham January 27, 2020

Issue:

When attempting to create a sprint, I see this error message: "The requested board cannot be viewed because it either does not exist or you do not have permission to view it."

After reviewing similar issues online, I am unable to resolve this permissions issue.

Here is what I have done:

  1. I am using a custom filter on the board and have confirmed that I own the filter and have permission to it.
  2. I have every admin group possible assigned to my user.
  3. I am a member on the project.
  4. I have global permissions to "Manage group filter subscriptions"
  5. I have permissions to manage sprints

Please know that I have imported issues from a Trello project that may have caused this problem. I also have bulked changed all issues in the project from another project.

Please help!

Hi Brian - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Does your board filter include more than one project? If so, you need to have all of the correct permissions for all projects included in the filter.

Next thing to check is the Permission Helper to see what it says.

I believe I only have one project now, so the filter is only linked to that one project. I have attached some more screenshots to the original post above, if that helps.

How about the Permission Helper?

Looks like you have everything right. Since it went through so many other hoops with the move and imported issues, I would go ahead and put in support ticket with Atlassian.

Hi Brian

I'm also having the same issue. I have one project in JIRA with multiple teams (boards). I completed the sprint the previous day and now unable to start the new sprint.

It seems like some problem. You did right by raising a support ticket.

May be try to create a new fresh sprint and try again?
