Unlinked issue count then counter in automation needs to decrement

I created one custom field for counter purpose whenever the D ticket in one project link to A ticket in other project then the counter needs to increment I achieved this in automation but my problem is whenever I unlink the D ticket in A project the counter needs to decrement it means the counter needs to update . How can I achieve this in Automation? or else is there any possibilities to achieve in other approach also? If yes can you guide . Can anyone help on this

Welcome to the community! 

You could create a new rule and use the "Issue link deleted" trigger to accomplish this. Then you could decrease your running counter field with 1. 

However, can I ask the purpose of this field, there might be other solutions better suited for your needs.

Thanks for responding, The purpose of the field is when we link the ticket the counter needs to increment and when we unlink the ticket the counter needs to decrement
