Upcoming changes: 'epic-link' replaced with 'parent'

I have a question about upcoming changes: 'epic-link' replaced with 'parent'. When will it happen and what kind of impact we have to expect?

The change is already live for my sites, and I assume most other users.

Since the change is still listed under "Upcoming change" would recommend wait for a few weeks to see if you get the change.

Would also recommend checking in the "Release tracks" in the admin section, to check if the releases have been stalled for prior to being added.

Does anyone know if this will come to Data Center?  

I don't believe my company will move to cloud.
