Update Spent Time field

Hello,

How can I create a condition that, if passed to a particular status, requires updating the "Spent Time" field?

As you can see in the attached picture, I have tried all the options that may be related to this field, but without success.

What am I not doing right?

Hello Eitan,

The Validator you have configured is correct, so I would check the following possible causes of the problem:

- Check if you have properly published the edited workflow

- Check if the workflow is related to the correct issue-type

Just to confirm, The wrong behavior you are facing is that the transition can be executed with an empty value in the Time-Spent field, is it right?

Hi Petterson,

I've already checked the 2 points you mentioned.

As for what you asked, the answer is yes, I do not want that those who update the tasks move the status to the next status without updating the time they invested in the task (Time Spent).

Hello Eitan,

Checking the screenshot you provided, I can see that you don't even have a screen added to the transition, so you would not be able to fill the field if the validator was working.

That being said, is the transition from To do to In Progress being performed without displaying any screen?

If that's the case, I recommend you to contact our support team so they can further investigate your issue.

Hello Petterson,

Yes, that's the situation.
I created a screen that requires the time to be updated with TIME TRACKING, but it displays the field of the initial estimated time and the remaining time.
What I want to update is the "Spent Time".

Hello Eitan,

I've checked that you marked my answer as accepted. Have you managed to fix the issue with the validator?

If yes, can you please provide us which steps you took to solve it? This information would help other customers facing the same problem. :)

Hello Petterson,

I added a screen, following your recommendation, to be displayed between the required statuses with the LOG WORK field.

Another question on another subject,
Are there any reports or queries you recommend that show, for example: deviations between planned and actual time?

Thanks.

Now I noticed that the field "Spent Time" is not required, so anyone who wants to switch between statuses does not have to fill this field even if the screen appears to him.
How can I determine it as a required field in the screen I created?

Hello Eitan,

You just need to add the same validators as mentioned before to the transition that leads to the Status resolved.

Once you add the validators, please make sure you publish the draft of your workflow.

P.S: Are you needing to make the field Time Spent required on every single transition or only in a few ones?

It's work.
