Update an epic with tasks to a task with subtasks

How do I efficiently update an epic with tasks into a task with subtasks? I am helping a team who did not quite understand what epics were to correct their issue type usage with as little manual work as possible.

thanks for your question. Actually there is no easy way to solve this.

You will need to convert your Epic to a task and convert all Tasks to sub-tasks. For the subtasks part, you could search for all issues and then use the bulk change option to move all issues and switch the type to sub-task.

Thanks. I first converted the tasks to subtasks (using the "Convert to subtask" function) under the epic, then converted the epic to a task (using the "Move" function). I wish this were easier, but luckily it is not something I normally do.
