I want to be updated/notified when someone adds a comment (and DOES NOT @ mention me) to an issue which I am assigned to. I combed through notifications in our tool and this does not appear to be an option. I also don't see 'reports' (i think it was called in our previous version of Jira on prem) so I don't see a reporting option to get a daily update, for example, sent to my inbox of all my assigned issues that have had activity/comments. What do you recommend? Thank you!
Hi @justinlynn In addition to what Mikael mentioned, subscribing to a filter provides you with a periodic notification for all issues returned by the search. To create an email subscription for a filter:
Run the filter that you want to subscribe to, then select Details (next to the filter name) > New subscriptions.
Fill in the information and select Subscribe.
You will find more details about this on this link.
Thank you both. I added a subscription to my filter I created. I added fields Updated and Last Viewed. Last Comment is not populating but that's probably an internal decision. It's not perfect but at least I will get something in my Inbox every morning where I can see what's been viewed or updated. FYI, My company, Northwell Health, has set up some restrictions with a custom Schema so that's part of the challenge. TY!

@justinlynn Thanks for posting an update here - it's always helpful to get feedback on how various ideas/answers helped or were implemented.
Something that would also be helpful is if you would mark one (or even both) of the answers as answers ("accept answer" button). Doing so will help classify the issue as having been addressed.

If you are using the default notification scheme the assignee, reporter and watchers will be notified when there is an update to an issue. You can also check your personal settings to make sure you get notified, just click you your avatar up in the right-hand corner and select Settings. From here you can customize when you get notified. Note that if you turn off email notifications you would still be notified within the application.
You could create a filter that lists all your assigned issues, and then subscribe to that filter and you will get notified on a cadence selected if one or more issues have been updated.
