Upgrade our Jira from 8.5.9 to 8.5.16 OR 8.13.8

Hi,

We want to upgrade our Jira from 8.5.9.

I would be happy to know which version is more recommended - 8.5.16 or 8.13.8?

Hi Miri,

It depends on several factors. You can upgrade to Jira 8.5.16 while maintaining all existing Jira functionality. Upgrading to a newer version will also bring you new features and various bug fixes, but you need to consider whether you have paid support for all addons -> to ensure compatibility with the new version of Jira. So you need to test if everything works as it should.

I think it is better to upgrade to the latest LTS version 8.13.x, because Jira 8.5.x officially ends its support with Atlassian support - EOL date: October 21, 2021. Jira 8.13.x has the end of support EOL date: 8 October, 2022, so you will be guaranteed new security fixes.
