Hi Guys

Can someone please help with a use case highlighting the usage of Self Reflecting transition in Team Managed project. Since, Transition screen is not there so, what is the use of this transition in Team Managed project?

Hi @011_avinash,

You seem to be well aware of the most common use cases for self reflecting transitions (adding additional info to an issue, maybe with limited access for a certain user group, without updating the issue status).

In theory, you could use it in combination with any of the available (automation) rules. That comes down to one of these 3 actions:

  • Updating the assignee
  • Copying a field value to another field
  • Updating a field

If none of those scenarios make sense, I would simply say: don't use them. It is not because a feature is available, that it should be used. At the same time, in time it may become useful when capabilities are expanded.

Hope this helps!
