User-installed Atlassian apps anonymization

Linda Djoumi May 12, 2022
Hi,

on our Jira Server 8.3.0 instance we have these 2 Atlassian apps in user-installed:

Anonymization handlers
User anonymization in Jira Core

See attached screenshot.

But I cannot find any information about them on the internet.
Could you give us some documentation about these 2 apps ?

Best regards

Hi @Linda Djoumi welcome to the Atlassian community.

Please be informed, I haven't heard of these apps nor have a real hands-on.

However, I found these Anonymizing users and User Anonymizer for Jira links for your reference if not already explored. Those documentation will help you to take an informed decision.

Also, I see that without admin/ global admin permissions, one can't install an apps or add-ons.

So, I request you to also check with your internal (or) colleague Jira admins for the same.

Thank you @G subramanyam ,

I already saw the links you have given.

For Anonymizing users, the paragraph is absent from version 8.3 documentation Jira Applications 8.3 - Managing users, then I think this functionality is not part of version 8.3 hence the need for an app I presume.

For User Anonymizer for Jira, I can see this app "User Anonymizer for Jira (GDPR)" in the "Atlassian Marketplace for JIRA" on our instance, and it is not installed, see attached screenshot.

Let me know if you find any other documentation about the Atlassian apps I listed in my first question

Anonymization handlers
User anonymization in Jira Core

I will also ask other admins on my team.

Best regards
