Hi All,

User/s is not receiving Email notifications when a ticket on specific issue-types ( Like, Test, story ) is created or for all issue-types ticket is created in JIRA. Is this possible?

Hi @Roja Gurram ,

This is possible, you can configure a notification scheme where the reporter gets an email when a new issue is created.

However, there is a global user setting 'Notify users of their own changes' which will enable disable the notification of changes they make themselves (see here).

Hi Rudy Holtkamp _ TMC _,

1) This is possible, you can configure a notification scheme where the reporter gets an email when a new issue is created. -

Ok, i have added a "Project ROLE "( in which users are present which is a DL Email  ) In "Issue created " Event. But, user is complaining that still not receiving EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS. Is this anywhere do i need to add from my end?

2) However, there is a global user setting 'Notify users of their own changes' which will enable disable the notification of changes they make themselves (see here).

Yes, i observed in "User Default Settings" Notify users of their own changes is disabled in my JIRA. We don't want to enable Global user permission. However, I have noticed if we go on our profile under preferences also we can change it i  think so whether is this work? I have attached screenshot for your reference.

Your ideas would be much more useful.Notify User changes.PNG

You say that there is a user complaining. Do other users get an email when they create an issue or is nobody receiving any email? If it is only one person, you should zoom in and check his/her profile settings and maybe check if they have set up email rules that automatically delete or move emails from Jira. I've seen that several times. Users complaining that they don't receive emails, but eventually, they do, but automatically remove them.

Hi Rudy Holtkamp _ TMC _,

As per them others are getting an EMAILS. As of now issue is with one user ( It is the DL Email list ) and i have enabled the "Notify me " options in their profile.

Do you want me to check with that DL EMAIL RULES ?

Is it possible to @mention the user in a comment and does the user then receives an email?

If you have ruled out everything else, then it must be something at the receiver's end of the emails.

Hi,

Is it possible to @mention the user in a comment and does the user then receives an email?  - AM NOT SURE.

They just want to receive Email notifications once ticket/issue is created in their project That's it.

Yes, but it would be nice to know if they get notifications from Jira (does not matter what kind of notifications it is).

Thanks for the respond.

So, finally what do we want to do pls ?  Do we need to ask them whether do they  get any notifications of DL Email related to JIRA?

Go to http://localhost:8080/secure/admin/SendTestMail!default.jspa where localhost:8080 should be replaced by your base url.

And mail the user explicitly, then the log should show if the mail has been sent. Then the problem is on the side of the user.

Hi @Roja Gurram ,

It seems that you went to a different URL:

http://localhost:8080/secure/admin/SendBulkMail!default.jspa

You should go to

http://localhost:8080/secure/admin/SendTestMail!default.jspa

Hi Rudy Holtkamp _ TMC _,

Thanks a lot for your help.

I have seen the same snippet as your's and Log shows the Test Email has been sent successfully to the user.
