Users of watcher role in a project are not getting email notification for any update

Hi All, 

I have a project A, where I have 10 users added in the role of the watcher. Previously whenever there was an issue created/updated in the project A all the watchers used to get an email notification. 

However, when the same user creates an issue he is getting the email notification as he is reporter and watcher of the same bug. 

My question is when a user is added to the watcher role of a project then is he should get the email notification (If the notification scheme is allowing to send update notification to all watcher).

As per my understanding, you not using watcher(s) feature of Jira. You have created a project role called watcher and added this project role to notification schema.

Now you want to notify ,whenever you add a person to Watcher role of the project. ?

Currently there is no event for this. User will not get notified on this.

Watcher role members will get notified only for the events which you configured on the notification schema of the project.

Hi, @Sreenivasaraju P I have configured the notification scheme such that any update like comment added/edit/delete, priority changed all most for all events the watchers should be notified. It is working for other project but not for a specific project and previously it used to work I don't understand what has happened all of a sudden.

Please check issue security schema of the project, if there is any change. Either Watcher role is removed from security.

There is no issue security schema used. One point I would like to highlight is these watchers are also having watcher role for other projects for which they are getting emails of all the update. The problem is for a specific project.

Kindly make sure that the Watcher role is linked to the Issue Update event in the project configuration scheme.
