Hi, everyone!

I still don’t understand if I need to create a backlog status in the workflow for Scrum project?

My problem was: I’d created the workflow, and there was a backlog status for “Create” transition. When issues were created in such workflow I couldn’t find them in Backlog. I found them only in the “Issues” section. So the question is: do I need to create the status for backlog? Or it’s not needed? I only need my issues to be seen in Backlog after creation.

@Валентина Стилус Welcome to the Atlassian community

If you created a backlog status to track issues that are in the backlog on the workflow and are adding them to the scrum board and they are disappearing it is because the status is not mapped.  You can do one of three things.

  1. Move them to the next status in the workflow when you add them to the scrum board.
  2. Add the status to the scrum board in its own column
  3. Add the status to the scrum board under an established column

From what you have described it sounds like the best option would be 2.

Thank you!

But that’s not an error if I don’t add the backlog status to the workflow?

It is not an error but you will not see or be able to transition issues in the backlog status on the board.
