Using of weekly time unit

Vilmos Koschek March 14, 2019

Hi,

We use Time Tracking of Jira. I don’t understand where I may use weekly time unit?  I can grant only one date on the logging  form. JIRA doesn't divide 5 days of week for days. Where, how should I use it ?

thanks in advice

Vilmos

Hello Vilmos,

I hope you had a great weekend.

Do you have administration access to your JIRA instance?

To configure your time tracking you must navigate to JIRA Settings > Issues > Time Tracking > Click to edit. You will see a screen like the one below:

There, you can configure how many working hours you have per day and how many working days you have in your week. The default values for it are the ones displaying in the screenshot.

To add a week to your time tracking fields, you just need to add the number of weeks followed by W. e.g: 1w

for more information about this, you can check the documentation below:

Hi!

Thank  you for your answer. I question is exatly.

An develepor worked for 3 days, and he would like to fix his spent time on the Log Work screen. There are 2 values : Time Spent, Date Started. Example:

- Time Spent: 3d (3 days)

- Date Started: 11.03.2019

I expected the following:

- 11/03/2019 -> 8h

- 12/03/2019 -> 8h

- 13/03/2019-> 8h

But I got different result:

- 11/03/2019 -> 24h

- 12/03/2019 -> 0h

- 13/03/2019-> 0h

So I don't know how can I use well day and week in the Time Spent field.
