Validate status of parent issue

Hi all!!

 

I have this question, it was asked to me to prevent to close subtask if the parent issue is not in a specific status. 

I checked in validators an I found that there is an option "parent status validator", but I can only set as parameter the status of parent issue. there is no validation on issue type. 

 

How can i do that?

Hi Rosana, 

If I understand correct, you want to have a condition not only on the parent status, but also on the parent issue type? 

If this is correct, you should create a transition for every issuetype, where you add a condition (linked issue, JQL,.. whichever you have available) concerning the parent issue type. 

A lot of instances have 1 or 2 apps to give more workflow options, let me know if you don't have 1 that makes this possible, I could advice 1 or 2  that could do this ;)

Hi Tessa!! yes exactly I need to check that the subtask issues are Done. Can you suggest me some apps?

Rosana, 

if you can get your admin / company to go for JSU Automation Suite for Jira Workflows (payed app), that is a great one with lots of added functionality fo conditions, validators and postfunctions. 

I do know of a free app that is highly recommended, but I have never used it myself so you would need to try it out little, being Workflow Rules Lite
