Web links not opening

Web links added to Jira issues no longer open, on a click, to a new window. Users must right click and select open in new tab. Web links within the body of the description or a comment do open in a new tab on a click.

This bug was recreated in both Chrome and Edge browsers, on both mac and pcs.

Is there a setting or configuration to allow the web link automatic open in a new tab?

I received a notification from my support ticket that the bug has been fixed. I have also confirmed that web links are functioning as designed in the feature: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-9380

It is a bug. The functionality used to exist with this feature implementation.
