What are the main differences between JIRA Cloud and Jira On Premise?

I currently have JIRA On Premise but have been thinking about migrating if this is possible to JIRA Cloud. What are the main differences I know obviously no need for server work etc. But are we able to edit our workflows like we have today? Also, the main add ons we use are ScriptRunner, subVersion plug in, and Agile. Are these still functional with Cloud? Any ideas on how the migration process goes?

You will get most of the standard functionality, like configuring workflows but not all (Advanced settings for example).

You will also miss plugins like Scriptrunner on Cloud.

Hello Bryan,

Since the OnDemand JIRA version is always one minor version ahead of the standalone client, you do need to be on the latest standalone version before migrating in order for it to work (same same way you need to be on the latest standalone version to do the reverse process). If you are planning on doing this on your production instance, beware that there is no process to downgrade JIRA, so make sure to backup all your data beforehand.

You will have to check all your plugins to see if it's supported by the JIRA Cloud, for example, Scriptrunner won't run on JIRA Cloud.
