What elements are shared when you create a project with a shared configuration?

According to this page:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwarecloud/create-a-project-in-your-new-jira-experience-937886053.html

It's:

  • issue types
  • workflows
  • screens
  • fields
  • versions
  • components
  • permissions
  • notifications
  • and more

But in using the feature I find it doesn't share components or versions. I'm not unhappy about this, I only want to skip having to assign schemes - not end up with things like issues, components, versions etc. copied. That wouldn't make sense (to me) as it's not 'config'.
However it doesn't copy the project roles, which I did expect.

So because the actual differs from the documentation I'd like to know Atlassian's position rather than rely on the observed behaviour and have the product be 'fixed' later to match the documentation.

What can I rely on for shared project configuration?

Hello @Brendan Andrews,

I think the documentation listing versions and components is an error - good catch! You can provide feedback to Atlassian directly on the documentation page, scroll down to "Provide feedback about this article":

It is consistent that versions and components are not shared since they're not part of any scheme. As for the project roles, it doesn't rely on any scheme neither so I wouldn't expect them to be shared as well.

Thanks, that matches what I see and makes sense intuitively - I'll leave the feedback and hope they update it.
